Everything that surrounds us on this planet, made by humans, is made of inspiration and it comes from the audacity to do something distinct to offer new solutions. Like the Luxu tables that you can see on the following picture.

Similarly, this International Contract Design Competition was born from the petitions of hotel chains to bring innovative propositions and solutions. This contest answers this calling giving the participants a challenge, which is exciting!

The best Participants

The main goal of our International Contract Design Contest is to generate innovative proposals and enhance the professional career of the participants, who are offered the opportunity to transform their projects into installations in the new hotels with which BELTÁ & FRAJUMAR works.

Therefore, the contest is open to everyone! Both professionals and students. Already in the previous three editions, we were able to count with competitors from countries as unique as Mexico, Chile or France.

The best Professionals

Are you looking for an agent that distributes your designs in the best hotels? That is what will await you with the BELTÁ & FRAJUMAR contest. To begin with, InterCIDEC proposes a contest where the candidates have the opportunity to develop their creativity and imagination to carry out projects that are really interesting, with the main goal of making these projects real executed works someday.

BELTÁ & FRAJUMAR, a furniture and upholstery manufacturer from Yecla, specialised in Habitat and Home, conceives InterCIDEC as “a talent detector“, but also as a “creative and synergy generating opportunity” between companies and participants.

In previous editions, we have been able to count for InterCIDEC’s jury with first-rate figures in the world of architecture and design such as Jorge Pensi, Teresa Sapey, Diego Gronda or Pepe Seguí among others.

And this year, as a novelty, we will have a great Spanish fashion designer: Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada. Do you know Ágatha’s start in the world of design?

Origin of the president of the jury Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada in the world of design

As some of you know, on the last edition, Christiane Maes from Pulpas Studio, a winner of the InterCIDEC 2018 edition introduced biophilic design. Also called ecodesign, it is a new constructive trend inspired by nature for the construction of buildings.

Furthermore, Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada also gets her inspiration “in nature, in contemporary art and in myself.” At the age of 20, she began to work as an assistant in Pepe Rubio‘s Madrid studio, the Murcian fashion and interior designer. A year later, she made her first show at a design centre in Madrid and joined in a collective display at the Contemporary Museum of Art in Madrid. Just one year after this, Ágatha opened her first store and exhibited Painted Suits.

Her prolific career has continued faithfully fulfilling her will by completing her work until today to return to the Community of Murcia to preside over the InterCIDEC jury on October 17, 2019.

InterCIDEC 2019
The jury, that is getting ready, will count also with Gonzalo Armenteros, CEO of Soho Hotels,  and with Loli Moroño, CEO and Creative Director of PF1 Interiorismo.  And for the first time, the Valencian designer David Puerta, founder of Viruta Lab and winner of the last InterCIDEC edition, will be there too.
