The awards ceremony for the international contract environment design competition, InterCIDEC, which this year focused on the design of a “coliving” space, took place in Cosentino City in Palma de Mallorca.
The awards ceremony for the 8th Edition of InterCIDEC Awards took place on November 8 at the Cosentino City Mallorca facilities. The winner of this edition has been the Madrid-born Roberto Ortega, interior designer, with the project “Un espacio para conectar”, which makes direct reference precisely to one of the characteristics of coliving spaces.
The first of the second prizes went to the interior design studio Nota Estudio, also from Madrid, with its “Core Home” project; The second prize went to the Strada Interiors studio from Tarragona, with its project “Conexión Desconectada”.
The InterCIDEC 2023 jury has been made up of prestigious national and international figures in interior design, architecture, as well as managers of important hotel chains; some of them coming from countries like Peru, Colombia or France.
This year’s edition has focused on the design of a “coliving” space, which is about common spaces, increasingly common in large cities, where people want to live with other people in their professional environment, in order to share knowledge and experiences…
The 2023 edition has had a large participation of contestants, both nationally and internationally, with projects from Spain, but also from countries such as France, Portugal, Mexico, Chile, Belgium and Australia. InterCIDEC has become the reference platform for the contract channel where new talents can be discovered and as a showcase for new ideas and proposals for companies in the hotel sector.
Remedios Lajara herself, mayor of Yecla, and the Murcian city to which the company organizing the contest belongs, attended accompanied by members of the local Yecla corporation and Juan Miguel Zornoza, director of the Yecla Furniture Fair. The day has also been supported by the vice president of the Hotel Business Federation of Mallorca, Mª José Aguiló, the dean of the College of Architects of Palma de Mallorca, Bernat Nadal, as well as some of the sponsors and collaborators of a competition that is already approaching. to its tenth anniversary.
