The awards ceremony of the international design competition for contract environments, InterCIDEC, which this year focused on the design of a “coliving” space, was held at Cosentino City in Palma de Mallorca.
The awards ceremony of the 8th Edition of InterCIDEC Awards took place last November 8th at the Cosentino City Mallorca facilities. The winner of this edition was Roberto Ortega, interior designer from Madrid, with the project “A space to connect”, which makes direct reference to one of the characteristics of the coliving spaces.
The first accesit was the interior design studio Nota Estudio, also from Madrid, with its project “Core Home”; the second accesit was the studio Strada Interiors from Tarragona, with its project “Conexión Desconectada”.
The InterCIDEC 2023 jury was made up of prestigious national and international figures in interior design and architecture, as well as executives from major hotel chains, some of them from countries such as Peru, Colombia and France.
This year’s edition focused on the design of a “coliving” space, which deals with common spaces, increasingly common in big cities, where people want to live together with other people from their professional environment, in order to share knowledge and experiences…
The 2023 edition has had a large participation of contestants, both nationally and internationally, with projects from Spain, but also from countries such as France, Portugal, Mexico, Chile, Belgium and Australia. InterCIDEC has become the benchmark platform for the contract channel where new talent can be discovered and as a showcase for new ideas and proposals for companies in the hotel sector.
Remedios Lajara mayor of Yecla was accompanied by members of the local Yecla corporation and Juan Miguel Zornoza, director of the Yecla Furniture Fair. The event was also attended by the vice-president of the Hotel Business Federation of Mallorca, Mª José Aguiló, the dean of the College of Architects of Palma de Mallorca, Bernat Nadal, as well as some of the sponsors and collaborators of a competition which is now approaching its tenth anniversary.
