Jacobs Pringiers, to pursue his passion for design, moves to Milan, continuing his studies at Vevey Switzerland and Pasadena California, where he is accepted into the renowned Art Center College of Design. After graduating, he returns to Milan and opens a design studio, together with Luca Casini. He successfully collaborates on various design projects for Colgate, Luxottica, WMF, BIC, Nike, RIVA, Fiat… and wins several industry awards for his work, most recently the prestigious Trend Product Of The Year Award, 2011 in Frankfurt with the design “LULU”, a collection of ceramic vases. He also designs for companies such as Desalto, BRF, eDepadova, Durlet. He was invited as a professor of 3D design at the Politecnico di Milano. Now Pringiers divides his time between Milan and Colombo, Sri Lanka, where he is the artistic director of one of the leading shipbuilding companies in Asia while continuing to work on various projects internationally. Over the past few years he has collaborated with two leading Japanese architects, Tadao Ando and Shigeru Ban, opening up a new dimension to their work and future projects. The obligation of designers is to fulfil each of these functions with the best standards, finding harmony and balance between the different parts of the project.
