In the presentation of the call, held at the company’s facilities, the CEO of Beltá & Frajumar, Francisco Juan, recalled the objective of the competition “which is none other than to offer the market innovative proposals in interior design generated from of research and the demands of hotel users” to respond “to current and future needs.”

During the presentation event, we had the participation of authorities and guests. Among them the mayor of Yecla, Marcos Ortuño, who has been “proud of Yecla’s industrial fabric” and for whom the contest “combines two fundamental aspects: design, a basic pillar to be competitive and reach new markets” and “the contract channel, a business format that facilitates business cooperation and already makes important trade agreements possible.” For his part, the person in charge of the Business Competitiveness area of ​​the Development Institute of the Region of Murcia (INFO), Rafael Martínez highlighted “the consolidation of the initiative” and congratulated Beltá & Frajumar “for being pioneers in the contract channel”. Said event and press conference concluded with a toast to make this inauguration official, giving way to the exhibition visit.

We have also had the winner, in the professional category, of 2018, David Puerta, from the Viruta Lab studio. He has seen the “#sistmaleta” atmosphere materialized in the company’s showroom. Project for the lobby of a hotel, with which he won the competition last year. “This type of competition gives new generations of interior designers and architects the option to go out and value our ideas,” he said. The architect Mónica Fullana, participant and designer of the renovated showroom, has been able to present and explain this project.

The day concluded with a series of training and information conferences on interior design. Companies in the sector such as Digital Walls and Sonae Arauco have been responsible for these presentations.

Two categories for the contest: professionals and students

In this fourth edition the chosen theme is the interior design of a restaurant, of a maximum of 100 square meters, not including kitchen. The competition maintains its two categories, one for architecture, interior design and design professionals, and another for students.

InterCIDEC, created in 2016, is also a creative opportunity to generate synergies between companies and participants by offering the opportunity to convert their design projects into real contracts, capable of being manufactured and installed in the new hotels with which Beltá & works. Frajumar, something for which they would receive the relevant economic benefits, according to the rules of the call, or they can be presented at the fairs in which the company participates.
