Jury Day of the 6th edition of the InterCIDEC Awards

Pedro Valadés, president of the jury "Interior design plays a very relevant role in providing security to customers when they return to hotels".

The Jury meeting of the InterCIDEC Contract Environments Design Awards took place last Thursday, October 21 at the Beltá Frajumar facilities in Yecla (Murcia) where the main leading figures of the hotel and interior design sector met to assess the participating projects and choose the winners. This year, in its 6th edition, a very special contest has been presented, focused on the reinvention of hotel spaces with a theme based on the design of a multifunctional space for a hotel offering new solutions to help the sector after the crisis suffered by the pandemic.

The committee was made up of leading international hotel professionals and executives such as the chairman of the jury Pedro Valadés, CEO of Valnest Luxury Hotels; Juan Zapata, manager of Puerto Antilla Grand Hotel and president of the Andalusian Hotel Association; Jose Manuel Díaz, manager of Apartamentos Leo; Borja Herrero, director of purchasing and investments at the Be Cordial hotel chain.

Juan Zapata, President of the Andalusian Hoteliers Association commented:

The co-founder of the Ilmio Design studio emphasized “This competition offers the possibility for many people to make themselves known, especially if their projects are among the winners”.

Prestigious international figures in architecture and interior design such as Manuel Clavel, CEO at Clavel Arquitectos; Michele Corbani, of the Italian studio Ilmio Design; designer Mouna Nouidir, founder of the Nouidir Interiores studio Paco Lago, of the interior design studio Paco Lago Interioriza, the co-founder of the LeMobba studio Víctor Medina and Pedro José Martínez of the LLanes Granados Arquitectos studio.

The main objective of the InterCIDEC Awards as a platform for Corporate Social Responsibility is to discover new talents in interior design and architecture and also to become a bank of ideas and proposals that will help the hotel sector to find innovative solutions for their projects.

With a large international participation from different countries such as Spain, France, Mexico, Italy, Australia, etc., InterCIDEC is consolidated as a reference initiative in the Hospitality channel.

The criteria for evaluating the projects presented were based on 6 fundamental aspects: conceptual proposal, level of innovation, added and differential value, accessibility, level of aesthetics and products used. Finally, for the idea of a space of social and cultural reference of the environment and an optimal realization and design, the jury named a winning project and three accesit prizes that will be made public on the day of the awards ceremony.

Awards Ceremony on November 4th in Malaga

Next November 4th will be held at the Official College of Architects of Malaga the Awards Ceremony of the 6th edition of the International Contract Environments Design Competition InterCIDEC where the names of the winning projects will be officially announced and the awards ceremony will take place. This event will be attended by important personalities from the hotel sector, architecture and interior design.
