InterCIDEC 2017 International Design Competition for Contract Spaces

The InterCIDEC 2017 awards ceremony took place in the central agora of Feria Habitat Valencia next to the NUDE. After starting off with a video summary explaining what the second edition of the International Design Competition for Contract Environments consisted of. Francisco Juan Ortiz (CEO Beltá & Frajumar) thanked sponsors, collaborators and of course participants for making this second edition a reality.

Afterwards, there was a presentation by the international designer Diego Gronda (Studio Gronda), an architect and interior designer with more than 20 years of experience who has collaborated with some of the most influential hotel operators, such as Virgin Hotels, Nobu Hospitality, Ritz-Carlton, InterContinental Hotels, Hyatt and Mandarin Oriental, among many others. It highlights the transformation that is taking place in the hospitality sector, focusing on the user experience.

Competition winners and awarded projects

The winning project in the professional category went to Jesus Torné for the Cosmopolis project because of its sophisticated design, putting different cultures into dialogue, using references to historical, architectural and cultural elements of life, finally resulting in an integrated and harmonious whole of all its elements.

 

The winning project in the student category went to Víctor Manuel Mollá, for the TRIVISION project, for his research into the interrelationship of sensations with the most immediate surroundings. A room that allows the user to vary between the essence of sensitive materials. es . He presented the award to Juan Bernardo Dolores, President of the Ibero-American Council of Interior Designers.

 

The first Award was for Óscar Sangines and María del Mar Tomás, for the Coop House project. A project inspired by nature itself, replicating a vault that resembles the section of a bamboo rod. New prototype of hotel room that is inserted within the market called glamping, offering to the users the possibility of enjoying the most intimate contact with the nature, without losing the conditions of well-being and comfort, . It did delivery Jose Vicente Gonzálex, President of Fair and Vice-president of the Spanish Confederation of Managerial Organizations, CEOE. He collected the Gonzalo Terol award, for being from Mexico the winners and being impossible to come.

 

The second prize was awarded to Ofelia Sirvent and María José Durá for the Per Se project. A space created for the development of the 5 senses, where it aims to make the visitor to this hotel feel a life experience, a room to dream. Where the natural abounds and fills the space, giving a feeling of spaciousness creating an interior backdrop and connection with the elements. Amparo Balbastre, manager of the CDICV (Association of Interior Designers of the Valencian Community) presented the prize..

 

The third accessit was given to Vicente Armando Ruíz for the Gravedad Zero project. For the feeling of flotar, to remain suspended in the air, a feeling that is fully linked in our minds to rest and relaxation. Juan Miguel Zornoza, deputy mayor of Yecla, handed over the prize.

 

The special mention of the jury went to the students Mari Carmen Ortín and Lidia Cubero for the project Room with a view.

 

For creating a work in which simplicity and design predominate as the basis of the furniture and the distribution, making the exterior landscape part of the “decoration” of the room. Francisco Bernabéu, manager of Puertas Castalla, presented the project.

Prior to the awards ceremony, a tribute was paid to Francisco Juan Martinez and Carmen Ortiz, founders of the company in 1967, to mark the 50th anniversary of the creation of Beltá & Frajumar, by presenting them with an honorary prize.
