Introduction of InterCIDEC 2019
Last Wednesday, May 8th of 2019, the fourth edition of the international hospitality interior design contest was officially introduced. The time for the participants to send their proposals has begun, and the deadline is next September 24th.
The introduction to the contest started with the CEO of Beltá & Frajumar, Francisco Juan, has reminded the goals of the competition, which are “to offer innovative interior design proposals to the market from the investigation and the demands of the hotel users” in order to “give solutions to the current and future needs”.
During the introduction act, we have counted with the presence of Marcos Ortuño, mayor of the city. He said that “the contest mixes two fundamental points: the design, basic to become competitive and reach new markets, and the hospitality sector, a business format that makes easier the cooperation and makes possible important trade agreements”.
The press conference finished with a toast to make official this inauguration. After that, we gave way to the visit to the showroom.
Inauguration and the visit to the renewed showroom.
In this journey, we had the presence of the InterCIDEC 2018 winner David Puerta, from Viruta Lab Studio. He has seen his project #Sistmaleta a reality in our showroom. He said, “This kind of contests give a chance to the interior designers and architects new generations to make our ideas known”. The architect Monica Fullana, the designer of the renewed showroom, has had a chance to explain this project.
The journey has finished with some conferences about interior design. The companies Digital Walls and Sonae Arauco have been in charge of said conferences.
Two categories for the contest: professionals and students
On this fourth edition of InterCIDEC, the theme of the contest is a restaurant, with a cap of 100m2, without including the kitchen. The contest keeps both categories. One of them for professionals of the architecture and interior design and the other for students.
InterCIDEC was born in 2016, it is also a creative opportunity between companies and the participants to make their projects real contracts. Always with the possibility to become a reality on the projects that Beltá & Frajumar participate and get paid from that work. The projects can also be part of our stand on furniture fairs in which the company participate.
