Jacob Pringiers, to pursue his passion for design, he moved to Milan, Italy, continued his studies in Vevey Switzerland and in Pasadena California, where he was accepted at renowned Art center College of Design. After graduating, he moved back to Milan and opened a design studio, together with Luca Casini. They successfully collaborated on the most diverse design projects for e.g Colgate, Luxottica, WMF, BIC, Nike, RIVA, Fiat, … and winning a number of industry awards for their work, the most recent being the prestigious Trend product of the Year award, 2011 in Frankfurt with ‘LULU’, a collection of ceramic vases.Simultaneously he designed for companies such as Desalto, BRF, eDepadova, Durlet. He was invited to teach at the Politecnico University of Milan as Professor in 3D design.Now Pringiers divides his time between Milano and Colombo, Sri Lanka, where he is art directing one of the leading boat companies in Asia while continuing to work on various design projects internationally. During the last few years he collaborated with two leading Japanese architects, namely, Tadao Ando and Shigeru Ban opening a new dimension to his work and future projects.Jacob has always designed with a purpose. Each design has a function, whether aesthetic, functional or emotional.
